For handcrafted candles with wood wicks, remove any charred wood before relighting to maintain an optimal burn. Allow the candle to burn for a full 4 hours during the first burn; the melt pool of the candle may not reach all edges of the jar until the second or third burn. Never burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Safety Warnings: Always burn candles within sight and away from drafts, pets, and children. Keep candles on a heat-resistant surface and never touch or move a burning candle. Discontinue use when ½ inch of wax remains to prevent overheating the vessel.
